HON FEMI SAHEED COMMISERATE WITH THE RESIDENTS OF AGILITI 2 COMMUNITY OVER THE INCIDENTS OF BOAT CAPSIZEDTHAT TOOK THE LIVES OF FOUR (4) ON SUNDAY

The Member Lagos State House of Assembly Representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Hon FEMI SAHEED on Sunday Visited the scene where a boat Capsized happened on Sunday 23rd of October, 2022 at celestial Avenue Agiliti that claimed four lives.

A member of the affected community (name not disclose) was interviewed after the visit of the Honorable member of the house with respect to certain rumour that surface all over the community that claimed that the law maker was at the community  to blame the residents instead  of sympathise with them

Here’s the extract of his statement: “Nawao” how can person with good conscience say a honorable holding public office would go to a grieving scene and still blame them for their calamities.

Those present at the community at the time the lawmaker visited the community would bear me witness with my following narration of what actually happened.

Hon Femi Saheed got a call from a resident of the community about the sad incident while preparing to go to the State Assembly for the day plenary.

Immediately he got the call, he rushed to the scene saying a soul is too much to loose not to talk of four.

He met with the leaders and residents of the two CDAs in the community (Olaoluwa and Agiliti 2 CDA) commiserating with them on the sad incident.

He said his appeal to the CDAs is that they should sensitize people living close to the river banks to quickly relocate to safe places because more casualty must not be recorded.

He said he would report the incident at the House plenary for immediate response. He however warned that if the government hear of this mortality, they may order all residents in the community to relocate. But he said he would apply wisdom in reporting the incident so that all residents would not be affected with response of the government.

He asked for immediate response that could be done to avoid such incident of canoe mishap and a resident urged the Honourable to assist the people to construct plank to serve as walk way and reduce many people using canoe.

The lawmaker instantly announced a donation of N200,000 for the plank construction and promised he would get in touch with other colleagues in government to solicit their support for the flooding victims.
