Harmony in Action: Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri LCDA Unites Stakeholders for Sustainable Development Budget Year 2024

The Ikosi Isheri LCDA stakeholders' consultative forum for the Year 2024 Budget and Fiscal Planning, themed "Budget of Optimization for Sustainable Development," held at Senator Adebayo Osinowo Hall in Ikosi Isheri Local Council Secretariat, was a vital platform for open dialogue, aimed at presenting a transparent account of governance's accomplishments and gathering valuable input from stakeholders in the community for the upcoming budget year.

The event exemplified the Mayoress's commitment to inclusive governance, showcasing dedication to fostering communication and collaboration between the government and the community. It also symbolized a collective effort towards achieving sustainable development in Ikosi Isheri LCDA.

During her welcome address, Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada expressed gratitude for the residents' unwavering support since the beginning of her administration and emphasized the significance of engaging stakeholders to build trust, credibility, and encourage citizen participation in the Year 2024 budget. Additionally, the Mayoress provided an overview of her administration's achievements aligned with Governor Babajide Olusola SanwoOlu's T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda, ensuring context for the budgetary discussions.

Mayoress Bada assured attendees of her administration's commitment to integrating stakeholders' inputs into the budgetary process. This underscored the participatory nature of governance, ensuring that the community's perspectives and priorities would be considered in shaping the Year 2024 budget.

The forum allowed for active participation from stakeholders, ensuring a fair and even distribution of available resources to optimize human infrastructural development across the seven (7) wards in the LCDA.

The Head of Budget and Planning Department, Mr. Olomo Adeyinka, explained more about the importance and processes of budget preparation and assured everyone present that his department would continue to provide every assistance needed by the Mayoress in making all the items in the budget statement a reality.

Distinguished figures present at the event included the Deputy Mayor Hon Olayinka Ogunleye, Legislative members led by Council leader Hon Yunusa Salami, Executive team led by the SLG Hon Kola Omotayo, Management Team led by Council Manager Mrs Mercy Adeyemi, APC Lagos State Youth Leader Dr Seriki Muritala, LGA Chairman Alh Alli Olatunbosun who led other Party Stakeholders, HRH Oba Jamiu Lawal Aileru 1 of Shangisha Magodo, CDC and CDAs leaders, Religious, Security, and Youth Organizations, among several others. The stakeholders were provided with the opportunity to share perspectives, priorities, and suggestions regarding budget allocations for respective sectors. This was followed by an interactive session, where the Mayoress allowed discussions, requests, and clarifications regarding the proposed budget, fostering a comprehensive and inclusive approach to fiscal planning.

WHO IS KAFILAT OGBARA

  Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara was born to Alhaji and Alhaja M. Ade. Kasumu’s family in Aiyepe Ogun State. She attended Adrao International School in Victoria Island and Federal Home Science PSchool Ikoyi, Lagos respectively.   Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada was born into the blessed family of the late Alhaji Olatunji Raheem Bada and the late Chief Mrs. Afolakemi Bada (JP) in Odogbolu, Ogun State, on December 28th, 1973. She attended Muslim Primary School in Odogbolu, followed by Odogbolu Grammar School, and completed her education at Ajao Estate High School in Anthony Village, Lagos. She pursued her diploma in Marketing at Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, and later earned her B.Sc. honors in Geography and Planning from Lagos State University, Ojo.
