NYSC Service: Urgent Appeal for Assistance with JAMB Regularization Issues for LASPOTECH Graduates



We are reaching out to shed light on a critical predicament impacting all the recently graduated students of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), which has now transitioned into a university. Throughout this transition, the institution continued to confer degrees to graduates from its polytechnic programs. However, these graduates are now encountering significant hurdles with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) concerning the regularization of our admissions.

At the heart of the matter is JAMB's reluctance to process our regularization, which is essential for our eligibility to participate in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). JAMB's rationale is rooted in their stance that they cannot regularize admissions for an institution that no longer exists, as LASPOTECH has been formally upgraded into a university and consequently removed from their portal.

Despite concerted efforts to resolve this issue internally with the university's administration, progress has been elusive. The rector of the school has made various efforts to resolve the issue, but unfortunately, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has complicated matters further.

In light of the impasse, we are urgently soliciting intervention from esteemed authorities and influential figures to champion our cause. We implore assistance in facilitating dialogue among all stakeholders, including JAMB, the recently established university administration, and the Lagos State Government, to forge a viable resolution that enables us to proceed with our compulsory national service.
