Mayoress Samiat Bada Extends Immediate Relief and Support to Bereaved Mother of Joshua, Primary Six Pupil Who Was Lost Tragically to Flood











The Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, paid a heartfelt visit to Joshua's mother, a local fruit seller, following the tragic incident that claimed the life of Joshua, a primary six pupil swept away by flood in the Ikosi, Ketu area of Lagos State. The purpose of the visit was to express her deepest condolences and provide immediate support to the bereaved family.

During the visit, Princess Samiat Bada conveyed her sorrow over the untimely death of Joshua. She reassured Joshua’s mother that the local government shares in her grief and is committed to preventing such tragedies in the future. "Joshua's death is a profound loss to our community. No parent should have to endure the pain of losing a child, especially under such tragic circumstances," she stated.

To support Joshua's mother during this difficult time, the Mayoress announced that the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA has secured a new apartment for her. This move is aimed at providing her with a safe and comfortable living environment, away from flood-prone areas. Additionally, the local government will be offering further benefits to ensure her well-being and stability, including financial assistance and access to social services.

Princess Samiat Bada also addressed the broader issue of flooding in the community. She emphasized the need for urgent measures to improve the drainage systems and infrastructure to prevent future occurrences. "The safety of our residents is paramount. We will be collaborating with relevant authorities to expedite ongoing projects and implement new strategies to mitigate the risk of flooding," she assured.

The Mayoress called on community members to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their environments, especially during the rainy season. She encouraged residents to report any concerns regarding infrastructure and public safety to the local government for prompt action.

The local community leaders and residents who were present during the visit expressed their gratitude to the Mayoress for her swift response and support. They acknowledged the need for collective efforts to address the challenges facing the community and prevent further tragedies.
