Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Wife, ATTF President, Inspect Nearly Completed Iconic SAIL Innovation Lab, Sport Centre In Ibeju-Lekki, Pay Courtesy Call on Host Monarch








The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, in the company of wife, Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, and other notable personalities, including Mr. Wahid Enitan Oshodi, President of the African Table Tennis Federation and Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation, on Sunday, inspected the nearly completed SAIL Innovation Lab and Sport Centre at Orimedu, Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

The impressive facility sited on a sprawling 8,600 square meter prime land, along the road leading to the Lekki Free Trade in Ibeju-Lekki. The facility is designed to accommodate a standard football pitch measuring 90 by 45 feet, with a standard indoor Table tennis court, with changing rooms facility and catering service area. The Innovation Lab section will comfortably accommodate 200 trainees and co-working spaces, with the complement of operational offices both at the ground and first floors.

Other notable personalities who joined Senator Abiru and his wife for the inspection tour include: Prominent leader in Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Chief Bode Oyedele, Mr. Wahid Enitan Oshodi, President of the African Table Tennis Federation and Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Bayo Balogun, Honourable Member of the House of Representatives (Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency), Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Special Adviser to Senator Abiru on Constituency Matters, Hon.(Princess) Adebimpe Akinsola, Former Honourable Member, Lagos State House of Assembly (Ikorodu Constituency 2) and Alhaja Abiodun Ogunniyi, among others.

Oba Oyedele commended Senator Abiru for spreading his interventions and projects across the Senatorial district. He said the people of Orimedu, and by extension other communities in the district are proud to have him as their representative in the Nigerian Senate.

In his remarks at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Toheeb Abidemi Yissa Oyedele, The Onimedu of Orimedu Land, who is the monarch of the host community of the SAIL Innovation Lab and Sports Centre, commended the monarch, the chiefs and the entire people of the community for their support and co-operation, adding that, ”The innovation lab and sports center are more than just structures; they are symbols of hope, progress, and the future we are building together; a future filled with opportunities for innovation, empowerment, and youth development”.

“The world today is driven by innovation and technology. Therefore, we must position our young ones for the enormous opportunities that this current era of innovation and tech revolution provide. Just as we have done in Ikorodu, we are building a world-class and inspirational facility here, where our young people will be eager to stay and learn”, Senator Abiru was quoted to have said in a release by his media aide, Mr. Enitan Olukotun.
