Assures of Quality Representation if Emerges as Council Chairman 

In a heartwarming gesture, Councillor Bashir Saheed Omogbolahan, popularly known as "Elewedu," representing Ward 'D' at the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has once again demonstrated his commitment to education by distributing 207 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to deserving students within the community. The event, held at the Agboyi-Ketu Area Office in Mascara, was filled with excitement and gratitude from beneficiaries and their families.

As a leading aspirant for the position of Council Chairman, Councillor Elewedu emphasized that his educational interventions over the past three and a half years have been aimed at raising literacy levels in Ward 'D' and beyond. He explained that the increase in the number of forms distributed—from 200 to 207—was necessitated by the growing population of eligible students in the area.  

Addressing the beneficiaries, he urged them to focus on their studies, reminding them that education is key to creating brighter futures.

 “This opportunity is not just about gaining admission into tertiary institutions; it’s about equipping yourselves with the tools needed to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.

Highlighting his achievements as both a current councillor and the immediate past youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agboyi-Ketu, Councillor Elewedu assured residents that they would benefit even more under his leadership if he were elected as Council Chairman.  

He expressed confidence in his ability to drive meaningful change across all sectors of governance, noting that his previous initiatives had opened his eyes to the potential for progress within the LCDA. 

“Good governance comes with records of achievement,” he stated. “As your representative, I have used whatever resources I could muster to support humanity, despite the challenges it poses to my personal finances.”

Recalling his humble beginnings as a street hawker at a young age, Councillor Elewedu emphasized the importance of giving back to the community. “I want to be remembered as someone who made a difference—not just for myself but for everyone around me. If given the mandate, I will ensure that Agboyi-Ketu becomes a model of development and prosperity.”

Acknowledging the efforts of the current Council Chairman, Dele Oshinowo, Councillor Elewedu pledged to build on existing successes while delivering transformative results. “We’ve already set high standards as councillors, earning recognition globally for our performance. But this is only the beginning. If I emerge as Council Chairman come July 2025, I assure you that I will change the fortunes of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA for the better, my vision includes prioritizing education, empowering residents, and ensuring inclusive development."

“Education remains an integral part of my plan because it empowers people and gives them a voice. Together, we can place Agboyi-Ketu firmly on the map of progressive communities in Lagos State.”

Councillor Elewedu concluded by appealing to residents for their unwavering support in his bid for the chairmanship position. “With your trust and cooperation, I am confident that we can achieve great things together. Let us work hand-in-hand to create a legacy of excellence and development that future generations will cherish.”

The distribution of JAMB forms underscores Councillor Elewedu’s dedication to fostering educational opportunities and improving the lives of those in his constituency. As he campaigns for the top job at the LCDA, his track record speaks volumes about his potential to lead Agboyi-Ketu into a new era of growth and transformation.
